The Heart of Texas Homeless Coalition (HOTHC) collects data about the Continuum of Care (CoC) in the Heart of Texas Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). This information is reported to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the annually required reports: Point-In-Time Count (PIT), Housing Inventory Count (HIC), Longitudinal Systems Analysis (LSA), and System Performance Measures (SPMs). Nationally, HUD uses these reports to provide data to Congress in the Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR). Locally, the data about our Continuum of Care gives us a picture of our homeless crisis response system. HUD has summarized these reports into the CoC Performance Profile Report, which can be found at https://www.hudexchange.info/programs/coc/coc-performance-profile-reports/. Our most recent CoC Performance Profile Report can be found at https://files.hudexchange.info/reports/published/CoC_Perf_CoC_TX-604-2018_TX_2018.pdf.

Each year the Heart of Texas Homeless Coalition organizes the Point-in-Time Count.  This is a requirement for all recipients of HUD funding. The Coalition organizes volunteers to physically count all the sheltered and unsheltered homeless individuals and families in our community. The Point-in-Time Count usually happens the last week of January, right before Project Homeless Connect. If you are interested in volunteering to participate in the count, please contact HOTHC at heartoftexashomelesscoalition@gmail.com.
