On May 18, 2004, a resolution was passed by the Waco City Council authorizing the City Manager to endorse a ten-year planning process to end chronic homelessness.
To date over 40 meetings have taken place. These Committees have spent approximately 2,000 hours of their time in a unified effort to educate themselves on the issues of homelessness. These committee members strive to ensure that all individuals have an opportunity to achieve their full potential by opening doors to housing ideas through a compassionate community partnership facilitated by the City of Waco.
The commitment and leadership of these individuals is greatly acknowledged. Their continued participation will be essential in making this plan successful.
The result is the Mayor’s 10-year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness.
