The aim of Liberty for Life is to free our youth from the bonds of homelessness. According to local officials, there are nearly 1,500 youth who meet the McKinney-Vento definition of homelessness in Waco ISD. They deserve the opportunity to experience liberty.
Liberty for Life facilitates TEKS assesment needs in the areas of history, literature and writing. Through learning about Homeless Heroes students get the chance to see great potential exists in everyone. Reading the suggested literary works provides the opportunity to veiw homeless youth in a different light. Engaging students in discussion of suggested Movies and TV shows provides an opportunity to change the way homeless youth are veiwed. Engaging Opportunities serve to close the door on chronic homelessness by changing attitudes toward homelessness issues.
